Description
The Akiles Finish@Coil-M is an electric coil inserter with a manual crimper, designed to automate and accelerate the coil insertion step in spiral binding production. The machine’s heavy-duty motor drives a full-size 11 3/8-inch EPDM inserting roller that spins the coil through the punched holes of the document continuously, handling coil diameters from 6 mm up to 50 mm in a single machine without roller adjustments for most sizes. Foot pedal operation allows both hands to be used to guide the document and coil during insertion, improving control and speed.
The machine includes a spiral coil diameter scale to help the operator verify the correct coil size before insertion, and a coil diameter selector to confirm that the correct diameter is matched to the punched document thickness. A pitch identifier verifies that the coil pitch matches the hole pattern of the punched document, preventing insertion errors that would damage the book or coil.
An adjustable roller mechanism accommodates the increased resistance of larger-diameter coils during insertion. Manual hand crimpers are included with the machine for finishing both ends of the coil after insertion. The Finish@Coil-M is designed for binderies, print shops, and office service centers that perform regular coil binding production and want a powered, controlled inserting process that reduces hand strain and speeds up production compared to fully manual coil insertion. It is appropriate as a standalone inserter or paired with the Akiles Crimp@Coil for a fully powered end-to-end coil binding station.
