Description
The ODM Sticker is an automatic casing-in machine that glues the finished hardcover case onto the end sheets of the book block, joining the interior book block to its outer cover. The machine uses a servo motor to bring two glue rollers into contact with the end sheets of the book block, applying a uniform coating of cold PVA adhesive before the cover is positioned and pressed into place. No makeready time is required because the machine is self-adjusting: it reads the dimensions of the book block and sets its roller positions automatically.
The standard ODM Sticker accommodates book blocks from 4″ x 4″ x 1/32″ up to 11″ x 14″ x 4″ and produces between 100 and 400 books per hour depending on book size and operator speed. The machine features an easy-to-use control panel and removable glue stations that simplify cleanup at the end of a production run. The self-adjusting mechanism is a significant operational advantage in shops running a variety of book sizes in the same session, as it eliminates the need for manual gauge adjustments between jobs.
The ODM Sticker is the final step in the ODM case binding production line before the finished books proceed to the building-in press (the Smasher). It is designed for digital-print binderies, photo book producers, and short-run book manufacturers who need reliable, consistent casing-in results across a range of hardcover formats. A Super Sticker variant is also available for higher production rates of 400 to 600 books per hour.
