A paper punch die is the heart of a punching machine. A punching die is to a punch what an engine is to a car. Your punched paper will only be as good as the die in the machine. At Spiel Associates we pride ourselves on our ability to manufacture a high quality die that will last for many years. We have been manufacturing dies for over 45 years for all types of punching equipment and have a long history of what it takes to get it right.

- We use only high quality tool steel for our die plates and punch pins, which are hardened and inspected to ensure your die will last many years after the purchase.
- We do not use hardened bronze in any part of our dies. Bronze is a wearable material that is acceptable for shaft bushings-- but not for guiding punch pins into a hardened die plate. We sharpen many of our competitor's dies and have noticed that bronze wears at an accelerated rate compared to high quality steel used in tandem with an oil felt retainer.
- Hardened tool steel guide posts help guide the punch pins through the guide into the die plate.
- A hard chrome finish or black oxide coating ensures that dies do not rust in areas of high humidity.
